Kinky Malinki Begins Turnmills Residency on Sat Dec 16th
New Musical Direction Begins For London Parties
After the incredible success of their eighth birthday at Turnmills, Kinky Malinki
has secured one of the most exciting residencies in the world as they round off
2006 with their Christmas Party and a new direction for their London sessions.
KM has always used its great brace of residents who are revered in the deep, vocal
and peak time house circles whilst using occasional special guests to great effect.
But now the guys have decided to up the ante a bit, and for the December party and
2007’s sessions, more guests will be brought in for slightly more experimental
sounds across the sprawling Turnmills.
So, for this festive party Steve Mac headlines the Main Room with support from the
hotly-tipped Dutch producer DJ Prom. Steve was once one half of the revered Rhythm
Masters and after they went their separate ways he started a solo career as a great
DJ and producer which now sees him remixing some of the world’s best tracks and a
guest at some of the best global clubs. Prom is a highly sought after Dutch
youngster whose warm, sexy and uplifting sound has made him an in-demand star in
the making.
Room Two will be the deep room with its small, low ceiling, perfect for deeper sounds
and the Audiowhores guest here. And Room Three is arguably the most exciting,
representing an anything goes philosophy from the Loose Cannons, Backstage Sluts and
Kissy Sell Out. No one will know what to expect except serious party music with the
emphasis on fun! The Backroom will be for VIP guests or electro rinse outs, depending
on the rest of the lineup.
Whilst the predominant vibes will still be kinky, uplifting house music, Kinky Malinki
will also be embarking on this new direction with guests for each of the Turnmills
dates. The club is fantastic and the four rooms will be perfect to help develop the
sounds further, each room having its own identity.
The Christmas party is going to be a great way to kick off the start of the Kinky
Malinki Turnmills residency! And throughout 2007 Kinky Malinki are proud be at
Turnmills for selected dates for some simply amazing gigs!
This date also sees the final of the Kinky Malinki female DJ competition, with the
chance to become the club’s first ever female resident through 2007 up for grabs!
Many talented females have already submitted mixes through November to the KM team
and 4 winners have been chosen to play at Anexo before Turnmills to test their ability
in a live crowd environment.
The competition has seen some great entries sent in so it will be intriguing to see
how the four finalists get on in a live environment before the party moves downstairs
into Turnmills for some serious party action!
